Project Span:
2007-2008
The Solution:
Our team of web experts created a flash based website that contained everything in the vision provided by Dallas Austin. Some features of the site include individual recording artists profile pages, unique video based chat rooms, live web cams, a standalone radio player, and much more. WebXperts created a unique demo submission process for Rowdy users, where the user is allowed to upload the first two demo tracks for free, and then they must pay $1 in order to upload additional demo tracks. Rowdy.tv also makes these user-submitted demo tracks available for sale to all consumers. These demo tracks are also placed into the Rowdy Radio where anyone can listen to the tracks, either while on the Site or by utilizing the Rowdy.tv "Pop Up Radio". Rowdy.tv is a large video portal, and the content you find in the site cannot be found on other video portal sites - Rowdy.tv only takes original content. WebXperts implemented a third party system to allow for video submission to happen quickly over the Internet, with no concerns for file size, file types or bandwidth constraints. Rowdy.tv is also a large online community. Registered users are able to access audio and video enabled chat rooms, where they can not only type chat messages to other users, but where they can user their web cams and microphones to have face-to-face conversations with them. In addition to the videos, radio and user community, WebXperts also build a customized online mall where Rowdy Records can sell T-Shirts and other kinds of merchandise. The Rowdy.tv site was estimated by Alexa.com to receive over 2,000,000 hits on its initial launch week, and it had over 500 users sign up for free accounts the week it launched.
