The Solution:
After analyzing Risk Music Group's product offering, WebXperts determined that selling band merchandise online would be profitable and that an affiliate e-commerce system would provide the quickest return on Risk's investment. WebXperts built and developed GotMerch.com as the e-commerce limb of Risk's merchandising business. WebXperts also provided a small onsite I.T. staff that resided at GotMerch.com for more than a year until they were able to hire their own I.T. employees. They wanted a complex e-commerce model, where they could not only sell merchandise, but where they could offer resellers a seamless way to sell Gotmerch’s merchandise through the reseller’s individual site. A complex database solution had to be set up in such a way so that different resellers would get different commissions and provide a common, secure environment for the general internet population. Fulfillment was handled by Gotmerch's internal department, so a sophisticated backend system was created allowing for the individuals inside of Gotmerch to keep track of shipping. After implementation, there were over 200 resellers selling Gotmerch's merchandise on their website and Gotmerch was actively pursuing concert events and online media sites as well as selling large volumes of their merchandise through these avenues.
